Questions &
Answers
Q:
What is a browser?
A: A browser is the software
application that everyone uses to “surf” the Internet and view other websites/pages.
Most people use Internet Explorer commonly referred to as IE and others
use AOL, Netscape, Firefox and Mozilla… and now the TUKI Kid Safe Browser
for kids.
Q:
Does this software work with any Internet connection?
A: Yes, our TUKI software
works on ALL Internet connections, but performs much better on “high speed”
Internet access, such as cable through a modem and DSL connections, typically
called “broadband connections”.
Q:
Does any other company offer a “Kid Safe browser”?
A: We are the only company
that we know of that offers a “themed” Kid Safe browser that offers both
safety and educational features. Our vision is to not ONLY protect kids
with underlying technology, but to also empower parents and children with
educational material.
Q:
What if I already have an Internet filter?
A: Our software will work
with any other Internet filter or parental control software now installed
on your computer. By installing our TUKI Kid Safe browser your kids will
have even more added protection along with great educational content.
Q:
Can I install the product on more than one computer?
A: Yes, you can install
the product on multiple computers. Protect your child on every computer
they use. You can install our software using your private account on all
of your computers EVEN if they are at located in different households.
Don’t forget to install it at the grandparents house too. We are
the only Internet filter that allows this to happen and your account settings
will be recognized on the multiple computers as well!
Q:
When I install your software what happens to my normal browser? Can I
still surf the Internet?
A: After you install our
software it places a separate icon for your new Kid Safe browser on the
desktop and does not effect the browser you regularly use at all. Additionally
we bundle a “parent filtered” browser with the kid’s browser, due to overwhelming
requests from thousands of our customers. The parent browser has its own
icon on the desktop also.
Q:
Will your software run on a Macintosh computer?
A: Regretfully … at this
time, no. Our software was built on the Microsoft platform and is tested
to run on computers with Windows operating systems (Windows 98 Second
Edition, Windows ME, Windows XP Home and Professional).
Q:
What is the purpose of your “themes”?
A: We realize that not
all kids like sports, art or even math. Our goal is to appeal to kids
of ALL ages and genders as well as give them things to change and explore.
So, we created different themes to meet the varying interests of your
children in areas of safety and entertainment. Each theme has a different
look and feel as well as different content. We are continually surveying
our customers to learn more of their interests that are educational, subject
based, sport based, affinity based and theme based. If you have a suggestion,
please let us know by sending an email to support@tuki.com.
Q:
If you offer this great product for free, how do you make money?
A: There are 3 simple answers
to this question and we have no hidden agenda, so here are the facts:
1.
We want to provide basic Internet safety protection for children of
all ages across the planet, regardless of any parent’s or guardian's
ability to afford it. We are currently seeking corporate sponsors to
help subsidize our 100% free Internet filter as well.
2.
We believe that if we provide you and your family a tool to protect
your most valuable possession, your children, we will gain your respect
and trust and eventually you will purchase other goods and services
from us.
3.
And, last but not least, we are going to politely ask you to invest
in our "premium" version that is called the “TUKI Kids Club™”. This
is an exclusive kids Internet club, which will enhance your TUKI Kid
Safe browser experience and provide the needed funds to expand our company.
Our goal is to continue offering one of the world's safest, most educational
and entertaining Internet environment to kids worldwide.
Q:
What is the “Internet Protection Module?
A: This is what we call
the IPM. It is a software program that, when turned on, forces children
to ONLY use the Kid Safe browser, eliminating the risk of them launching
another browser to surf unprotected.. This feature has an on-off switch
and is set to the defaulted mode of OFF. Parents who want to take advantage
of this feature will have to turn it on in the parent administration panel.
